Ingredients

1 kg  »  Ribeiro Sêco Sugarcane Syrup

1,5 kg  »  Flour

400 gr  »  Butter

250 gr  »  Lard

750 gr  »  Sugar

150 gr  »  Chopped Almonds

100 gr  »  Chopped Citron

25 gr  »  Baking Soda

10 gr  »  Pepper Cloves

10 gr  »  Ground Cinnamon

10 gr  »  Ground Aniseed

1  »  Ground Nutmeg

250 gr  »  Bread Dough

Confection
  • In a pot melt the lard, butter, sugarcane syrup and sugar. Leave to cool.
  • Place the ingredients in a mixing bowl and fold in all the rest, mixing well with a spatula for 10 minutes.
  • Cover with a cloth and leave to stand for 24 hours.
  • Using size 22 cake moulds which have been lined with greased baking paper, spoon 350 gr of the mixture into each. Sprinkle with whole nuts and citron and bake for 25 minutes at 200 ºC.
